Ceramic Kiddush cup with its matching underplate and salt bowl, designed for the blessings over the wine and bread during Shabbat and holiday meals.

Symbol & Tradition

The Kiddush cup and the salt dish stand at the center of the Shabbat table and open the meal with the blessings recited over the wine and the bread. It is customary to use a cup dedicated to Shabbat, and to prepare two challot which have been carefully covered. During the blessing, the challah is uncovered and dipped three times into the salt.
Shabbat is a sacred space in time — a sanctuary woven into the rhythm of the days.
The cup and the salt stand as two pillars :
The cup elevates.
The salt grounds.
One opens the heart, the other anchors it.

Handmade by artisans in India. Potential slight variations of shape, color and dimension should be considered as natural particularities of a hand-crafted production process. Each Maison Rahel ceramic piece is handcrafted and kiln-fired at high temperatures. Due to the thickness of the ceramic and the natural firing process, slight variations or small marks may appear; these are inherent to artisanal production and do not affect the strength, durability, or quality of the piece.
